We currently have 15 Morgans under saddle at our facility with the majority of these horses being client owned. These horses, at the least, can navigate a training level test, but the majority of the riders aren’t interested in participating in a USDF recognized show because of costs, nerves, or simply navigating the system to register for a show. For these clients this year we have set up series of three schooling shows through out the summer so our riders can set goals and have the enjoyment (and stress) of participating in an event. We will award high point awards and they will also have a chance to enter in the MDA schooling show awards program. I love to encourage our students to set short term and long term goals for themselves and their horses. It is a great way to encourage and help them recognize their progress in riding because it a very long and enduring adventure. Don’t be afraid to set goals!
