For more than 50 years, Moana Morgans has bred, raised, trained, and competed Morgan horses in Montana. What began in the 1970s as a family breeding program for working ranch horses has evolved across four generations into a respected Morgan sport horse breeding and dressage training program.
Today, we combine proven Morgan bloodlines with decades of experience in dressage, natural horsemanship, ranch work, combined driving, and equestrian education to develop talented, trainable horses and confident riders.

At Moana Morgans, we believe a great sport horse should be both athletic and enjoyable to ride.
Our breeding program has been developed through more than five decades of thoughtful selection, combining proven Morgan sport-horse bloodlines to produce horses with quality movement, athleticism, trainability, size, and willing temperaments.
We don't just breed our horses—we ride, train, compete, and develop them. That experience gives us firsthand knowledge of the qualities our bloodlines produce and helps guide each new generation.
Moana Morgans have successfully competed from the lower levels through FEI dressage and Grand Prix, while others have become trusted partners for amateur riders, recreational riding, and the trail.

With more than 30 years of training and coaching experience, our program welcomes beginner through advanced riders and draws from a broad foundation in:

4-H and youth horsemanship
Schooling and USDF-recognized competition
We offer horse training, riding lessons, lesson horses, stall boarding, paddock boarding, and pasture boarding, with indoor and full-size outdoor arenas.
Our approach is fair, compassionate, and progressive. We meet horse and rider where they are, establish meaningful goals, and build a program to help them move forward together.
Moana Morgans brings decades of competitive experience to every horse and rider we work with.
Our accomplishments include USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals, USDF All-Breeds championships, Morgan Dressage Association championships, American Morgan Horse Association honors, and success through the FEI levels.
Our Morgan sport horses include Iron Forge Starman, a Grand Prix stallion whose influence continues throughout our breeding program, and Flower of Alliance, who competed at Grand Prix with scores as high as 64%.
In 2026, Moana Irish Mist competed at Prix St. Georges and earned USDF All-Breeds, MDA, and AMHA championship honors.
We've also coached riders from their first shows through recognized competition, regional and national qualification, and the North American Youth Championships.

with Montana Deep Roots
Moana Morgans was established in the 1970s by Marvin Radtke, who bred Morgan horses for working use on his cattle ranch in Hall, Montana.
More than 50 years later, his bloodlines remain part of our broodmare herd.
The Moana and EMR Morgan prefixes have now been passed through four generations of our family. While our focus has evolved toward breeding and developing the modern Morgan sport horse, the principles behind the program remain unchanged: sound horsemanship, thoughtful breeding, versatility, trainability, and a genuine love of the horse.
For us, Moana Morgans is more than a breeding or training business. It's a family legacy we're proud to carry into the next generation.
